A gentle word of caution about FREE
membership and/ or automated websites...

Already own a website?? Got one for free from a membership you belong to?? You've probably seen them. Free website with membership - edit it yourself. Wow, that'd be hard to pass up. Until you find out a few things, like:

  • You don't get your own domain name - like www.mymassagecompany.com.
  • You don't get your own email - like info@mymassagecompany.com
  • You don't come up in any of the search engines in the first 5 - 10 pages
  • You're limited to their tools or lack there of - can't check your web stats, for example.
  • Don't get any visitors to your site after several years
  • You're in a list or group of all the other therapists in your city
  • Their program creates dynamic, search engine UN-FRIENDLY web pages
  • You can't add additional features - iike a blog, or newsletter signup
  • You can only have 1 - 5 pages
  • Their graphics require you to use a copyright disclaimer on them
  • Just try to put your own voice audio on there
  • Their templates are very plain jane and not even remotely customizable
  • They offer ZERO tech or customer support

They try to offer a simple solution. But in the end, it just simply can't compare to a web site created by a real live human being web designer. Remember, you get what you pay for.
